Thomas Tallis Reimagined
Cantores presents a programme centred around the music of one of England’s greatest composers Thomas Tallis, including many of his magnificent Latin motets, as well as his nine tunes for Archbishop Parker’s Psalter as the centrepiece of the programme. Tallis’ music will be interspersed with contemporary settings of some of the same texts, and pieces directly inspired by Tallis, including works by Cecilia McDowall, Bob Chilcott, David Bednall, and a new work specially composed for this programme by Esther Kay.
