Cantores directed by Simon Harper will sing Palestrina’s Missa Aeterna Christi Munera during a celebration of an eventide Holy Communion service at Turkdean Parish Church on Sunday 20th November 2022 at 6:30pm. There will be lavish refreshments in the Nave after the service. Tickets are free but should be obtained in advance from www.ticketsource.co.uk/Turkdean. Turkdean Parish Church is raising £30,000 for the bells and a donation of £15 or more per ticket would be very welcome.
The Missa Aeterna Christi Munera was a later work of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and was published in his Fifth Book of Masses in Rome in 1590. It is built on three themes from the plainsong hymn of the same name.
